The boring stuff
I like to describe myself as a marketing and public relations strategist, a business builder, and a healthy-living writer.
Most of my career has been spent in corporate marketing helping financial institutions and retailers launch payment and loyalty programs. Now, I am having the time of my life helping companies like MP4 with their marketing and public relations initiatives at Fitness & Spice Marketing… where strategy and creativity are blended to give your bottom line a healthy shake! I also blog on and on and on at www.fitnessandspice.com.
Aliases:
My name is Joanna and because just about EVERY male in my family is named Joe (my dad, an uncle, my brother, my nephew), no one really called me Jo growing up to avoid confusion. That being said, the people at just about every gym I’ve ever belonged to call me Jo. Strange, huh? The fam calls me Nan. I don’t care what you call me, just as long as you call.
Fave sweaty pursuits:
I’m an Iron Maiden. Lifting is my thing. If I have to do cardio, I like to HIIT it. High Intensity Interval Training is bitter-sweet…bitter in that it’s fierce, sweet in that it’s over fast!
Fave clean eats:
Is protein powder clean? Other than protein powder I’m mad about natural peanut butter (we spoon all the time), almonds, pistachios (ok…I’m a little nuts!)
Fave unclean eats:
Frosted sugar cookies from my favorite local bakery, oh, and cupcakes…I’ve never met a cupcake I haven’t loved!
Can’t live without:
Joanna Sutter’s Top 10 Things I cannot live without:
- My hat. I simply cannot live without my black fitted Nike hat. I own 4 because I wear one every time I work out which right now is 6 days a week.
- Makeup. I do not leave the house without mascara or lip gloss. Ever.
- My Blackberry. I sleep with my Blackberry. Enough said.
- fitbook. I am seriously obsessed with my training and nutrition journal and I tell anyone who will listen. While I don’t sleep with my fitbook, 9 times out of 10 it’s in the same room I’m in.
- Protein Freeze. Protein Freeze is my favorite protein powder I’ve found yet because of it’s ahh-mazing taste and versatility…I make it into ice cream, shakes, cookies, brownies, CUPCAKES!, and lattes.
- Coffee. There’s a time and a place for decaf coffee and that is after I’ve had two cups of the caffeinated stuff.
- Peanut butter. I need to learn to live without this stuff because I cannot eat it in moderation.
- The Magic Bullet. I use this blender no less than two times everyday.
- Social networking. When I’m not on MP4, find me @joannasutter on Twitter and search for me at Joanna Sutter on Facebook and LinkedIn.
- MP4, baby!
Can live without:
I could live without…Game shows, babies dressed as fruit or vegetables, people that don’t wipe their sweat off gym equipment, auto direct messages in Twitter, pot holes, and crowds.
