Yeah…we’re new to you, but we are not new to this. In fact, we have been a team for almost two years now and we are enjoying each other more and more every day. But I bet you are wondering what we are all about?
Model Per4mance is a full service nutrition and training company dedicated to YOU the athlete.
Wait, did I just call you an athlete? If you can answer yes to any of the following, then yes, I called you an athlete:
You participate in a sport—even casually.
You are competitive.
You care about your performance in the gym and on the field.
You want to look good but that’s not the only reason why you do what you do.
You shop in malls at Christmas time. (No, really. If this is not a full contact sport, what is?)
Ok. Fine. So what. You’re an athlete. Big whoop. What does that mean to you? We make it sound like you just qualified for your own separate stimulus package from the government. Umm, no (although wouldn’t that be nice)…but we’ll be happy to tell you why it’s such a big deal.
Regardless of whether you are hell bent on being the next Dara Torres or are just happy to be moving after work, your performance in and out of the gym, at work or at home, with or without the kids is based on what you are putting into the machine. If you think that it doesn’t matter because you are not that serious of an athlete, you are wrong. It matters. And if you think that it doesn’t matter because you are smokin’ in your sport right now and you are that serious of an athlete, you are wrong, too. Just because you can perform for your sport now does not mean that you will be able to later. And isn’t that what really matters?
Being the right weight for your sport is crucial when you talk about two things: overall performance and longevity.
You may think to yourself that it’s just 10 pounds more than where I should be, what’s the big deal? The big deal is you are performing anywhere from 5 to 10% less than what you could be if you were goal weight and you are putting as much as an extra 80 lbs. pound-force up through your spine from the extra weight. That’s significant. It hurts me just to type that.
You may think to yourself that you’ll just do Weight Watchers to get it off. We’re here to tell you that WW is not going to prepare you for your sport. Worse than that, you cannot burn the candle on both ends. WW is not going to feed you for your activity so you run the risk of starving and bonking out in the field while trying to stick to your plan. Or you may find that you begin to gain weight after a period of time because you are shutting your system down slowly due to really low cals with high energy output.
You may think to yourself, I eat pretty well. I eat all clean foods and I am not starving to death. Yay! That’s the best start. But is what you are doing right for your sport? Are you a power athlete eating like an endurance athlete so that when you go to call on your energy, it’s not there when you need it? Or are you eating all clean foods but massively off kilter as to how much protein or fat you need to be on track? How about electrolytes? Sweat much?
There are so many factors to consider your brain could go into overload and burst at the seams (now there’s a visual). But we won’t let that happen. We’ll be here day in and day out bloggin’ our hearts out about the latest trends in the industry regarding making weight and improving performance. We’ll also put on teleseminars for you with lots of information regarding making weight, optimizing nutrition and improving performance. Our first one is March 2nd at 8:00pm. We hope you will be there. We have mini reports and ebooks for you that will keep you up to date with training techniques, proper supplementation and the best recovery methods. And lastly, we have webinars and live events that we put on representing the philosophy of Model Per4mance. Basically, we have you covered.
It is our desire to help you to be the best that you can be so you can be the best at your sport. If there is anything that you want to see in particular, drop us a line at info@modelper4mance.com and we’ll see about getting it on the site for you as soon as we can. Thank you for hanging out with us.

Jodi, so very true! It is unbelievable how switching up a few things here and there can totally change the way you feel when trianing/performing! I, for one, want to be able to perform the way I do now when I’m old and grey!
I’m drinking the MP4 kool-aid! With the help of the team, I’m optimizing my training and nutrition plans so I can perform better everyday and in my upcoming race.
MP4 feels like home to me!
I love being part of this team.
Really, you rock training!!! And dieting is now so fun…
You are so caring and attentive to your athletes needs. I love you all girls
Amy: If folks only knew that starvation is not necessary! Just know how to manipulate food components and you’ll be on your way.
Joanna: WE LOVE YOU!
Sabine: WE LOVE YOU, TOO!
Hey, I just wanted to share the love fest.
Kas, so right on the not-starving. I felt like I ate constantly when I was at my leanest, in fact. Those were the days… {far off look in my eyes} And, Sabine: Je t’aime!
